Earthbound Futures is excited to offer this cosmic-tacular, immersive experience to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth this August - FOR FREE (value 1000$). Over two-weeks, participants will be guided on a magical journey into deeply creative and cosmic realms, to unearth the stories and characters hidden within.
Earthbound uses the wrestling ring as a platform to harness creative confidence, to confront intersectional oppressions, and as an inclusive space for playful release and authentic connection.
To help participants on their journey, various 2SLGBTQIA+ artists from Montreal will share performance techniques and character-building exercises that are rooted in local queer arts and culture:

At the end of the two weeks (on Sunday August 15), there will be a free, outdoor variety show at Bâtiment 7 and BBQ where participants and artist facilitators can share the creative outcomes with their friends, family and the broader community.

WHERE: Batiment 7 (a reclaimed factory turned community and cultural center in Point Saint Charles)
WHEN: 10 - 4pm, August 2 - 13, Monday - Friday. Community show on August 15th.
COST: 100% free (!!!) thanks to the financial support of the Ville de Montreal - a value of 1000$ per participant.
RUN-BY: Earthbound Futures (a wildly unconventional and creative non-profit run by queer artists) and Press Start (a youth-run community organization)
MAIN FACILITATORS: Two incredible community builders and performance artists will be leading this year's camp! Tanya Stasilowitch is a professional wrestler and is the co-founder and president of Earthbound Futures. Nada Khashaba is a drama therapist and a queer artist of color. They are both legendary performers on the queer arts cultural scene, and have been performing for over a decade in Montreal, Toronto, and internationally!

Earthbound is dedicated to the health and safety of every participant and facilitator

Camp activities will closely follow the government recommendations for COVID Safety (physical distancing, masks in indoor spaces, regular hand sanitization, etc)

During the camp, there will be no physical touching between participants. Each activity has been carefully crafted so that participants can maintain social distancing and other covid safety measures.

Earthbound Futures est ravi d'offrir cette expérience immersive et cosmique-taculaire aux jeunes s’identifiant comme 2SLGBTQIA+ et leurs ami.e.s au mois d’août 2021 - LE TOUT GRATUITEMENT (valeur de 1000$)! Pendant deux semaines, les participants seront guidés dans un processus créatif qui traversera des royaumes magiques et cosmiques à la recherche des histoires et des personnages cachés à l'intérieur d’eux-mêmes.
Earthbound utilise le ring de lutte comme plateforme pour exploiter la confiance en soi et la créativité afin de faire face aux oppressions intersectionnelles et pour créer un espace inclusif où la libération ludique permet une connexion authentique avec soi-même et les autres.
Pour aider les participants dans leur cheminement, divers artistes 2SLGBTQIA+ enracinés dans les arts et la culture queer locale, partageront leurs techniques de performance et des exercices de construction de personnage(s):

À la fin des deux semaines (dimanche 15 août), nous organisons un spectacle de variétés gratuit en plein air au Bâtiment 7 et un BBQ où les participant.e.s et les artistes-animateurs pourront partager les résultats créatifs du camp avec leurs ami.e.s, leur famille et la communauté en général.

ORGANISÉ PAR : Earthbound Futures - un organisme à but non lucratif et clairement non conventionnel dirigé par des artistes queer et Press Start - un organisme communautaire géré par des jeunes.
PRINCIPAUX FACILITATEURS : Deux incroyables bâtisseuses de communauté et artistes de performance dirigeront le camp de cette année ! Tanya Stasilowitch est une lutteuse professionnelle et la cofondatrice d'Earthbound Futures. Nada Khashaba est une thérapeute dramatique et une artiste queer et BIPOC. Elles sont toutes deux interprètes légendaires de la scène culturelle queer et se produisent depuis plus d'une décennie à Montréal, à Toronto et à l'international!

Earthbound Futures se consacre à la santé et à la sécurité de chaque participant.e et animateur

Les activités du camp suivront de près les recommandations gouvernementales en matière de sécurité COVID (distanciation physique, masques dans les espaces intérieurs, désinfection régulière des mains, etc.)

Pendant le camp, il n'y aura aucun contact physique entre participant.e.s. Chaque activité a été soigneusement conçue pour que les participant.e.s puissent maintenir une distance sociale et d'autres mesures de sécurité liées à la COVID-19.
